Same board, fair fight
A new 9-letter grid drops every day. Race friends and the world on identical letters—then come back tomorrow for the next one.
Spellr
Daily competitive word game
Every day brings a fresh 9-letter grid. Spot as many words as you can in five minutes, chase accuracy bonuses, climb the leaderboards, and challenge friends in private groups.
Gameplay
Everyone gets the same Daily Challenge. Find words of four letters or more, hunt the nine-letter word, and push for the highest score before time runs out.

Sharpen up in Training with unlimited puzzles, or revisit past daily boards in Archive without affecting today’s leaderboard scores.
Play consecutive days to build your streak. Earn streak freezes so one missed day doesn’t wipe your progress.
New scoring
Spellr now uses a bigger ManyWords-style point scale. Base score comes from word length; an accuracy bonus can then add up to 30% when you find plenty of words with few mistakes.
Accuracy bonuses unlock once a run has at least five unique accepted words and eight counted submissions. Perfect accuracy adds 30% of your base score; fewer mistakes mean bigger bands down to +2%. Bonus points round down to the nearest 10. Duplicate guesses do not count as mistakes. Total-score leaderboards start fresh on this scale—words found, streak, and fastest nine-letter boards are unchanged.
How it works
Spellr is built for quick daily sessions with clear controls and fair competition.
Private leaderboards
Create a private leaderboard, send a short invite code, and compete on the same daily puzzle—without drowning in the global rankings.
Start a group from Leaderboards → Private, pick a name and optional group avatar, then share the 6-character code or invite link.
Admins can remove players or allow them back. Anyone can leave from Manage and rejoin later with the invite code.
Everyone in the group plays the identical Daily Challenge, so score gaps come down to skill, speed, and accuracy.
Avatars & nicknames
Profiles make global and private leaderboards feel personal. Set a display name and avatar once, and friends will spot you instantly.
Choose a display name in Settings. It appears on cloud leaderboards and private groups so you’re never just a Game Center handle.
Pick an icon from the catalog or upload a photo. Your avatar travels with your scores across global and private boards.
Private groups can have their own avatars too—so family chats, office rivalries, and friend circles look distinct at a glance.
