Spellr (“we,” “our,” or “us”) values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Spellr app and website.
1. Information we collect
We collect limited information to provide a secure and enjoyable experience:
a. Profiles and leaderboards
If you use cloud leaderboards or private groups, your nickname, avatar choice (including an optional custom photo), group memberships, and eligible scores may sync through iCloud / CloudKit so other players can see you on the boards.
b. Game Center data
If you sign in with Apple Game Center, Apple may process your Game Center alias, leaderboard scores, and achievements under Apple’s own privacy terms. Spellr may use this to show progress on global or private boards where Game Center is involved.
c. Private leaderboards
Spellr lets you create or join private groups with friends. This may involve storing display names, avatars, invite codes, and membership details for leaderboard tracking. No extra personal data is required beyond what you choose to show.
d. Advertising and analytics
Spellr may display banner ads using Google AdMob. To show ads, AdMob may collect anonymized device data such as device type and OS, anonymized IP address, and Advertising Identifier (IDFA) if permitted. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings. We may also use aggregated, anonymized analytics to monitor performance and detect bugs.

3. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited, anonymized data with:
- Apple (App Store, Game Center, iCloud / CloudKit)
- Google AdMob (ad display and performance)
- Cloudflare (website hosting)
- App analytics tools (aggregated usage patterns)
4. Children’s privacy
Spellr is intended for users aged 13 and over. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has submitted personal information, please contact us immediately.
5. Your choices
- Disable personalized ads in your device’s privacy settings.
- Opt out of Game Center features by logging out of Game Center on your device.
- Change or clear your nickname and avatar in Settings.
- Delete the app at any time to remove local game data from your device.
6. Data security
We implement standard security measures to protect your information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
